231222 - busy enough?

What a week!Still a difficult exercise planning for Xmas ‘dinner’ so decided to just go ahead & do what I want - paella, with rabbit & capsicum; steak, with caramelised onions; and, some cheeses - no tiramisu this year :(

Also have some rather interesting wines to try, as well as some Tramadol - which I am needing, as gout has flared up again! <sigh>

However, in between bouts, have been doing my 20 minutes of activity each day, so as to meet the Garmin challenge.

Also, got the internet back on … kind of interesting & exciting! Stevie has been glued to the big screen, but will pay half, so not too annoying. Yet …

161222 - to start

A week in & much is changed, but much is not - still drinking too much! But at least it is wine, rather than beer?

Apart from that, am not getting anywhere near enough riding done! Got a GC10, with the challenge of making sure that it works - should, as it is from the same tech ‘era’ as the head-unit.
Been eating well - pork curry & ragout. Even tried doing fried rice, which worked, with egg omelette, chorizo & green leafy vegetables.

Well, #2 shot done & lockdown #6 to end tonight - all in all, not a bad day? Even got to ride out to Leopold beforehand. Stopped at butchers' to get ham & lambs fry, then popped around the corner to get some lime marmalade. Shoulder still hurts, but, surprisingly, given how rough the roads were, it feels less painful than it did after a few laps of the crit track - wonder why? Also, there were a few sections, coming back, where dirt was seriously impacting on the road.
More dramas in the office - not sure what Charlotte's problem is, e.g. litany of woes & NOR came back as suitable for APS3 - but that was all :o Josh has rolled off to an APS6 role, with LSAC & no, I was not welcome to join! 
This is what we call a 1st world problem?
Am gearing up for a woeful reaction to this 2nd dose - but shall see, as there is a strong element of psychosomatic illnesses!
Really am not sure why, but am finding that hotspotting with the phones is really not working at all for anything other than the work laptop - which is more than a 'little' annoying! Especially as there are some things that you do not want to associate with work, i.e. if I use the laptop, does that mean that the employer then has a right of overview?
When the 21ITR came in, went & bought some wines - that should keep me going until Xmas? Well, maybe not - but it is a good look, with the shelves in the rack(s) filled & many wines to enjoy. Have noticed that I do tend towards beer, however & they don't call them 'beer guts' for nothing!
Alright, that will do for now - have run my regular SpyBot checks & cleared out the bad things!

 Crikey - another lockdownt!
Which is usually not so bad, but ... have been banned from Qld & did have tickets to fly ...
Went for a ride today - which really, really reiterated how rarely I do that these days! Went with Greg & did ~25km, around the criterium track. Bit bloody cold, but it is that time of year - stop & felt that sweat hit me! But then the chill hit - not that there was much wind, however. Had a very definitive route to go there & back again ...
Had the jab, on 17/05/21 & have been remarkably sick ever since - albeit, a low grade response to viral infection. Except, apparently there was no viral loading?
Work is good - still WFH 4 days/week & (usually) just go in on Friday. That, of course, changed this week ... Been offered a HD extension to 18/12, although paperwork has yet to come through yet - not that I am concerned/worried, but just a wry note. I guess they like me - or that I don't upset the apple cart?
Spoke to Laura, who has moved North - I am sure that the last time we spoke, this plan was tentative? Anyway, stated that things were fine -well, apart from the 'old & fat' comment ... or the one about daughters not living with their mothers ...
Oh, finally - because it is SO cold (who'd have thought, hey?), have been putting the fire on. But then the fan stopped working. Finally (!) got around to ringing someone about coming out to fix it - which was (literally) about 30 minutes before the announcement of the snap lockdown! Anyway, started the fire today & thought to try the blast feature & it worked - as did the slow version! Inshallah?

Wow - survived another week!
Although,may have made one (1) mistake? :o
Gosh, it is hard to be articulate - regardless of the wine beforehand ...
So ... it is almost like there are two streams at work & they are so separate! :(
How to go about this will be an interesting exercise ...
There are highlights, of course:
New crew has been quite engaging, with quite a lot of mutual support :)
Been spending a lot of time working at home;
They seem to look after each other, albeit idiosyncratically;
But, there are are also negatives - apart from the icy reception:
More people have gone, e.g. Maria;
Get worried re consistency of responses, e.g. the lack of correct PIMS & inability to leave notes because of this;
Feel underutilised - but am less keen to fight for recognition;

Guess what - (finally) restructured the book case :) Not sure if this relates to how I am buying too many books? But, having said that, it was a great visit to NIB - finally got my torture book & found a 'few' others worth getting, which included Ohsawa!
Came home & found that some plants had been kicked around + tap was dripping - yeah, yeah ... still have not put the tape on it :( anyway, obviously the final bits of render have been added :o but nobody told me;
BoQ seems to be determined not to give me six figures credit for my efforts - every time I make it, within 28 days the total has dipped :( what to do?
